Laryngoscopes With Conventional Illumination
AMERICAN PROFILE
The MacIntosh series laryngoscopes, designed by R. MacIntosh in 1941, are the predominant choice of the curved blade types. During laryngoscopy, the tip or “beak” of the blade is compressed into the angle formed by the base of the tongue and the epiglottis (vallecula), indirectly raising the epiglottis. The spatula of the blade has a smooth and gentle curve extending from the lock of the tip. In cross section, the construction resembles that of a reverse Z flange, facilitating greater access during intubation. A wide variety of sizes are available. Made of stainless steel.

MacIntosh Blades-ENGLISH PROFILE Hand-crafted in a soft matte finish to virtually eliminate reflection and glare. The flange extends all the way down to the distal tip. Made of surgical stainless steel.
Miller Blades - AMERICAN PROFILE Miller blades are the most popular of the straight blade types. The reduce flange helps to minimize trauma and the curve at the beak (distal end) improves lifting of the epiglottis. These features facilitate greater exposure of the larynx in difficult patients. Blade sizes 2, 3, and 4 have the lamp on their right side. Made of surgical stainless steel.

The NEW English PrismView™ and American PrismView™ blade may be used:• When the view of the vocal cords is impaired, especially the most anterior larynx
• During nasal intubation
• For post operative examination of the larynx All blades have an extra bright reflector lamp and contain an optically polished prism which provides a refraction of 30° without image inversion. To prevent condensation, warm the prism before use by immersing the complete unit in warm water. Blade is made of surgical stainless steel.

REDUCED FLANGE E-MAC™ Patent # Des. 413.977 A modification of the English Profile blade by reducing the flange. This will enable the user to exert less force on the maxillary incisors while allowing more movement at the distal end to assist in visualizing the vocal cords. The added channel improves visualization of the cords and provides a guide through which an endotracheal tube may be inserted.
The Ambu Perfit Collar incorporates the latest design in cervical immobilization. With six sizes, there is a Perfit Collar that fits infants to the tallest patient. Constructed of high density non-absorbent foam and rigid plastic with a Velcro closure. The Perfit Collar has a one-piece flat design for easy storage.
Sun-Flex™ - MacIntosh Flexible Tip Blades SUN-FLEX™ - ENGLISH PROFILE • Satin finish • Extra bright reflector lamp • English channel to help visualize the epiglottis • Surgical stainless steel construction • Precise control to elevate the epiglottis • Tip has non-pinching design
MacIntosh Blades - AMERICAN PROFILE The American profile with a slightly more abrupt curvature and a flange starting at the lock of the blade and continuing to approximately where the curvature changes direction then disappearing.
