BLECHMAN # 3. This modification of the MacIntosh style blade is designed with the tip angled to further elevate the epiglottis in supine patient. - The tongue is swept to the left with the ability to tip the blade upward with the handle between the teeth, while viewing from the right side. The viewing is further enhanced due to the modification of the flange. Blade is made of surgical stainless steel.
CRANWALL™ - AMERICAN PROFILE The Cranwall™ blade has dramatically reduced the flange to allow insertion through a restricted opening, such as arthritic jaw or facial burns, and decreases potential for damage to the upper teeth. This blade has the flange removed directly below the light carrier and is useful as a left-handed straight blade.

The absence of the flange greatly reduces the chance of trauma during laryngoscopy. Blade is made of surgical stainless steel.
Left-Handed MacIntosh Blade - ENGLISH PROFILE Hand-crafted in a soft matte finish to virtually eliminate reflection and glare. The flange extends all the way down to the distal tip. Made of surgical stainless steel.
Laryngoscopes With Conventional Illumination
AMERICAN PROFILE
The MacIntosh series laryngoscopes, designed by R. MacIntosh in 1941, are the predominant choice of the curved blade types. During laryngoscopy, the tip or “beak” of the blade is compressed into the angle formed by the base of the tongue and the epiglottis (vallecula), indirectly raising the epiglottis. The spatula of the blade has a smooth and gentle curve extending from the lock of the tip. In cross section, the construction resembles that of a reverse Z flange, facilitating greater access during intubation. A wide variety of sizes are available. Made of stainless steel.
